Program Design

You could break the OperationOF program design into two parts: what we are doing right now, and the program design we are going to implement in our pilot program.

Current Program Design
We make performance-based grants to local African hospitals to support treatment efforts that surgical repair women with obstetric fistula. The idea is that we authorize a certain number of grants and send enough money to get our partner in Africa started.  As results from the surgeries come in, we issue the balance of the grant. Our process ensures a high quality of care at a low cost.

This program is set up in a way that requires minimal administrative overhead.  For this reason, we do all the work with volunteers and are able to devote 100% of your donation to these surgical programs.

We have developed a new program design that we are planning to test in a pilot program in Uganda in partnership with TERREWODE.
