Outreach - Many times fistula patients are shamefully hiding a condition they believe is incurable.  The best way to find them is to motivate community constituents who are closest to the problem.  We motivate with commerce. Help us now with Outreach.

Treatment - Facilitating treatment can be as simple as getting the women to hospital and as involved as building local treatment capacity.  We find a way to holistically heal. Help us now with Treatment.

Training - There is often significant wait time either before or after surgery and during this time, we have a captive audience of women ready to learn. Help us now with Training.

Our Program Model

We have a four-step process to sustainable change.  We find women suffering in silence, get them treatment, train them with locally marketable skills, and place them in a women’s economic group that we fund with microcredit.

Enterprise - With skills in place, we link fistula survivors with economic develop groups that we fund and support.  We are especially interested in supporting micro-social-businesses that promote safe motherhood (i.e. baby clothes pictured on above - Women’s group makes baby clothes and hospital buys for $1 a set.  These are given to any mother who gives birth at a facility with trained staff.)  Help us now with Enterprise.

By exhibiting her value to the community, a fistula survivor has greater potential for reintegration at a higher level than that which she left.  Success in reintegration spreads awareness and helps facilitate further outreach.
